Seems like I'm always in someone's backyard. Can hear traffic most of the day. Chilly this morning. Lots of roads to cross. Lots of squirrels. Stayed at Mt. Wilcox north shelter. Mile 655. That's the place that the water came out of a little hole in the stream bed took a picture and all the little frog eyes reflected. Met the ridge runner Chaindog. That's what you call someone who runs a chainsaw on a forest fire crew. He knows lots about Baxter state park. He said he's signed up to be part of a new program he'll be something like a trail monitor volunteer. He's assigned a section of trail and he keeps an eye on it.
It's hard trying to figure out my food and where to Get off trail and resupply. At mile 639.4 there was a lakeside hotel. I figured I could go off and do enough takeout to take care of supper and then breakfast and lunch. I did a 1) mile day to get here. You have to time these things to when and how you get resupplied. I still have plenty of food but planning out where I can resupply next I would come up one lunch supper and breakfast short. So I went off and got a room. It was cheapish. Until I ordered take out delivered. The turkey wrap without mayo could be packed away for lunch next day. The problem was that I could only eat 2 of the 4 potatoes skins. Save the other two for breakfast. I could only eat half the baked ziti and half of the small pizza. I ate what I could and again for breakfast. But it was just too much. Then I over tipped the driver dude. There was a little remorse in the morning leaving all that food.
