Maine's Civilian Conservation Corps camps arose quickly, only a month after President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the enabling legislation on March 31, 1933.
Judd left Thursday afternoon for Rangely. He had just finished a job interview and was meeting up with Michael Benjamin on the way to Brad Swanson's camp. He didn't want to drive back home so he parked the car in Waterville, hoping it wouldn't be discovered/towed. Malindi and I found his hiding place, discarded suit jacket and tie within. We left him a note. That was Friday. Hope the car is still there upon his return. He usually doesn't check in when on the trail but sends blog posts, 3-5 at a time "when he gets cell service." Someone with him clearly has cell service to post to FB. This is the worst selfie, ever:
